                                                      (ONE-YEAR COURSE) 

The concept of 'Health and Physical Fitness' has gained a vast change in its comprehension. This is because of the widespread awareness on holistic health and fitness. This also signifies a stress and disease free society where normal growth, average weight with respect to age and height, normal metabolic rate prevails in each individual. It is noteworthy that maintenance of normal health and the theoretical knowledge are essential in the field of Physical education and sports especially when students prefer to become an expert in the field of management of Health clubs.

The Department of Health Sciences and Yoga intends to offer PG Diploma Course in Fitness Management of one academic year. In this course, all the participants shall be trained specifically with Nutrition, Weight Management and Training, Yoga, Naturopathy, Reiki, Transcendental Meditation, Relaxation and Exercise Therapies and management of Health Clubs, Hotels, SPA centres and Aerobics.

The course shall address health care promotion, its instructions and practical application to students seeking employment and career in health care, fitness and management. Students may have their career in health clubs, health clinics or physical education/sports Institutions. Besides, they may also have self-employment opportunities as consultants in organizations, big hotels and SPA centers as well.


 Part – “A” Theory subjects

1. Paper-I        Exercise (Anaerobic and Aerobic)

2. Paper-II       Health and Nutrition

3. Paper-III      Massage and Health Club      

4. Paper-IV      Yoga and Naturopathy

5. Paper-V       Fitness Managements Communications

PART – “B”  Practicals

  • Weight Training, Aerobics & Nutrition
  • Yoga, Massage & Health Club Equipments



1.  The aspirants should have obtained minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized University and also recognized by the Institute

2.  Married women shall be eligible for admission to the course. In case, a woman candidate admitted to the course gets pregnant and reaches the stage of expectancy during the course, she will have to discontinue her studies for a minimum period of one year


 1. Practical Skills                   -50 Marks

The applicants will be tested for their basic fitness in relation to Fitness Management practices and marks will be awarded as per norms on the basis of their performance (Canadian Physical Fitness Test will be used for evaluation).

2. General Awareness               -50 Marks

    (Written test & Interview)

Basic fitness concept will be tested in the form of a written test of Objective type having a weightage of 40 marks. Interview having a weightage of 10 marks shall betaken by a group of teachers.

 Note: -

  1. Interview/call letters shall be sent to the candidates by registered/speed post. However, due to any reason, if letter is not received, such candidates who are sure that they fulfill eligibility conditions, may report for Admission Test as per the stipulated programme at Para 7.4.2. at LNIPE, Gwalior
  1. Seats will be filled according to the merit of Admission Test.
